Kirsten Murry, M.A.
Doctoral Candidate
Kirsten earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Xavier University of Louisiana and her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School. She is currently a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School, where she has gained experience providing therapy and psychological assessment services across the lifespan in both private practice and medical hospital settings.
As a pre-doctoral intern, Kirsten's primary clinical focus is providing therapy and assessment services for children, adolescents, and young adults. She takes a cognitive-behavioral and collaborative approach to treatment. Kirsten is committed to creating a supportive and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where clients feel safe, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes. She works closely with children and their families to develop practical and actionable strategies that promote growth and lasting positive outcomes. She is passionate about helping children, adolescents, and families build confidence and develop coping skills that help them thrive at home, in school, and in their communities.
In addition to therapy, Kirsten has extensive experience conducting psychological assessments with infants, children, adolescents, and adults. Her assessment experience includes evaluations for ADHD and mood, anxiety, neurodevelopmental, and behavioral disorders. Kirsten values the assessment process as an opportunity to help individuals gain a deeper understanding of themselves, their strengths, and their challenges while providing clear, practical recommendations and resources that support clients and families in achieving their goals and accessing appropriate services. She is also passionate about helping parents gain a clearer understanding of their child’s functioning and needs to better support them in daily life.
Kirsten's dissertation focuses on finding ways to adapt school-based mental health interventions to improve their effectiveness for elementary-aged children. Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys swimming, hiking, hot yoga, and spending time with friends, family, and her dog, Sizzle.
