Alec Brooks

Psychometrist / Pre-Doctoral Counselor

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate. I am also a father of two wonderful children and a disabled veteran. My experiences in life have given me a unique perspective on the importance of maintaining the mental health of individuals and the drive to help others become who they want to be.

I have experience working in various settings including community health clinics, behavioral health organizations, and group private practice. It is enjoyable for me to work with clients of all identities with a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, and stress management as they navigate the difficulties of daily life. I also have specialized experience working with neurodivergent clients in both my personal, professional, and academic endeavors.

My approach is primarily based on a cognitive behavior therapy modality that is heavily backed by humanistic perspectives. I also draw from the principles of positive psychology in working with clients. This approach allows me to closely collaborate with clients and help them highlight their strengths.

I am a clinical psychology student and hold a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Northwest University (2023), a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington (2019), and am pursuing my Doctorate Degree in Counseling Psychology at Northwest University.
