Alicia Christian
MA, LMHCA
I work with individuals of all ages, but I particularly enjoy working with children, teens, and young adults. I especially enjoy working with those who identify as neurodivergent and with those within the LGBTQIA community. Additionally, I provide parent coaching and parent check-ins.
My work is grounded in the Rogerian person-centered values of unconditional positive regard, empathy, and congruence. I like to empower my clients to lead the session based on what is most salient for them, while questioning underlying challenges and identifying areas for growth that we can tackle together. I also strive to include CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, and Solution Focused and Strengths-Based modalities to inspire, challenge, rewire, and educate. With my younger clients, I lean heavily into utilizing play and art therapy techniques. I even play with creative software during my telehealth sessions to increase engagement, learning, and rapport.
I am open to working with a wide variety of challenges, including but not limited to: anxiety, depression, ADHD, ASD, grief, divorce, stress, burnout, life changes, trauma, boundary setting, work, relationships, gender identity, affectionate orientation, communication, and self-exploration.
Whether it be telehealth or in-person, I can meet you for short-term life edits, or we can take things slow and process deeply. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and I am ready to help you find the tools to help yourself and the people you love.
