Dr. Annie Kam

Postdoctoral Fellow

Annie earned her Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology and Social Behavior from the University of California, Irvine. Following a brief break in schooling, she went on to achieve her Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) at Northwest University. She completed her internship at Federal Correctional Complex, Tucson in Arizona where she mostly provided group and individual therapy for a wide range of challenges to adults in custody (AICs), from adjustment to psychotic disorders. Her other clinical experiences include completing assessments (ADHD, Autism, learning disorders) for individuals across the lifespan and providing integrative behavioral health care for adults.

As a postdoctoral fellow, Annie is interested in sharpening both her assessment and therapy skills! She is eager to continue her learning journey by expanding her knowledge of different assessments and utilizing them to help clients better understand themselves while offering realistic and functional recommendations. Her areas of clinical interest regarding therapy (adolescents 14+ and adults) are survivors of trauma, individuals living with chronic diseases, personality disorders, and psychotic disorders. She welcomes those who are looking for empowerment to better handle day-to-day struggles as well! Annie addresses each client’s needs through a person-centered lens through an integrative approach with an emphasis on ACT, CBT, and DBT. Her aim is to help normalize life experiences, recognize emotions, and increase distress tolerance. She also believes in looking at the complete picture of each person to tailor her services for their unique and distinctive needs.

During her free time, Annie enjoys trying new baking recipes, getting completely absorbed in a book, spending quality time with her loved ones, and playing with her darling dog Dmitri! She is excited to be back in Washington state to explore more of the nature it has to offer, and hunting down the best cafes and restaurants.
