Ciara Field

MS, LMFTA

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate practicing at Dayspring Behavioral Health. I am a longtime resident of the Seattle area and received my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seattle Pacific University. I enjoy working with a diverse range of clients including children, teens, adults, couples, and families. I have a special interest in helping clients navigate challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, self-image, interpersonal difficulties, academic success, and major life or family transitions.

Drawing From Experience

My past experiences have informed my therapeutic interests and practices. I attended a graduate program that provided specialized training in working with couples and families. I have previous experience providing in-person and telehealth therapy in both community mental health and group practice settings to children, teens, adults, couples, and families. I have co-facilitated teen and adult Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy (DBT) groups focused on mindfulness, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. I have multiple previous experiences working in early childhood education as a preschool teacher and nanny.

Who I Work With

I work with a diverse range of clients including children, teens, adults, couples, and families. I am passionate about helping children overcome worries, sadness, and confusion and process difficult life transitions like divorce or separation. I enjoy helping teens navigate a stressful and transitional stage in their lives and develop their self-image and independence. I am also very passionate about helping survivors heal and grow from trauma and helping clients repair and strengthen interpersonal relationships.

How I Help

My approach to therapy is systemic and strength-based meaning I acknowledge that context and larger systems including relationships, community, and cultural identities impact therapy outcomes and must be considered in treatment and that each client has unique strengths and skills to achieve their goals. I utilize several therapy models including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. I believe the way people think and the stories they have internalized can restrict their perceptions about themselves and potential solutions to their struggles. However, as clients challenge their thinking and are empowered to rewrite their stories, they can create new opportunities to experience happiness.

More About Me

In my free time, I enjoy being social and active and appreciating beautiful Pacific Northwest nature. I like to spend a lot of time with my close friends and family. I love to go on walks and hikes with my puppy, especially ones with water views or lookouts. I love going to seasonal Seattle events like flower festivals, food festivals, fairs, and outdoor markets. In addition, when indoors, I like watching documentaries or dramatic and thrilling TV shows or movies.
