Dr. Grace Peabody

Postdoctoral Fellow

Dr. Grace Peabody has always been interested in working with people. From a young age, she wanted to pursue a career in teaching, as she loved the idea of supporting individuals as they learn and grow throughout life. From this interest stemmed her passion for therapy and her journey through higher education in Psychology. Grace graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a B.A. in Psychology, and minors in Education Studies and the Study of Religion and received her Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Counseling Psychology at Northwest University.

She has experience working in school settings as a classroom behavior technician and teacher’s assistant, as well as providing counseling and support to university students. Grace completed her doctoral internship at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Counseling and Student Development Center, where she provided short-term therapy, crisis intervention, outreach, and consultation to undergraduate and graduate students.

Grace also has experience in psychological and neuropsychological assessment. She enjoys helping individuals ages 6–35 better understand themselves through the assessment process and providing practical, individualized, and holistic recommendations. In therapy, Grace champions the idea of allowing people to feel seen, accepted, and heard while providing helpful tools that can be used throughout their lifespan. She believes in understanding each person within their holistic biopsychosocial and cultural context and collaborating with clients through a person-centered, relational approach. Her work draws from ACT, CBT, DBT, and Narrative Therapy, with clinical interests including identity and belonging, life transitions, anxiety and depression, and interpersonal concerns.

Grace values taking time for self-care and embracing moments of rest. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family, being outdoors, and going on walks with their dog, Maple. She also enjoys running, playing guitar, singing, sewing, coloring in cozy coloring books, playing board games, and knitting and crocheting. She especially enjoys starting her day with a good cup of coffee or matcha!
