My name is Kendall Bowen and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counseling Associate here at Dayspring. I received my Bachelor's degree in Political Science with a concentration in Political Theory, and have completed my graduate coursework in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Seattle University. I completed my internship with Dayspring, and am happy to continue being a member of this team!

How I Help:

I work with kids, teens, and young adults looking to improve their quality of daily life. I have a specific passion for working with Neurodiversity and trauma backgrounds. My approach to treatment is informed by looking at each individual as one-of-a-kind, which requires the development of unique and creative solutions. I accomplish this by being highly collaborative and always curious about how to best show up for you. We each contain multitudes, and these elements of our identity and experiences are like pieces of a puzzle. It can feel difficult and overwhelming to figure out how to fit all the pieces together, but sometimes just by having the opportunity to talk it through in a safe environment, we can start to see the bigger picture.

Modalities & Skills:

The number one priority that I have when working with someone is to find ways to infuse the therapeutic process with creativity and curiosity. When working together, your passions and interests are in the driver's seat and we use them to fuel our process. While I always tailor my approach to the person I am sitting with, I am most inspired by the relational and experiential elements of therapy and applying these principles to evidence-based practices to best suit the needs of who I am working with. I believe that each person is just trying to do their best with what they know how to do in order to make sense of the world around them. We are all doing life for the very first time, and so it's okay that we don't have it all figured out yet. There is always time for us to change and grow into happier, healthier, more authentic versions of ourselves.
