My Approach to Therapy

I work with clients holistically, helping them to build practical tools to overcome life’s various challenges. My approach is empathetic and supportive, aimed at helping clients of all ages to explore the underlying causes of their struggles and develop effective coping strategies. Clients find me to be compassionate, non-judgemental and knowledgeable. My goal is to help clients to develop effective coping strategies to achieve emotional stability, and to gain insights needed for personal growth and overall life satisfaction.

Issues I Can Help With

I particularly enjoy working with clients on issues such as self-esteem, perfectionism, body image, depression, anxiety, social anxiety, phobias, OCD and panic attacks. I also work well with folks wanting support regarding emotion regulation, anger management, grief/loss, trauma, life transitions, social skills, communication challenges, boundary setting, attachment issues, postpartum depression, relationship issues, difficulties in dealing with narcissistic individuals, and overwhelming workplace pressures. I also love working with clients with ASD and ADHD, and devote a large portion of my caseload to this work. Additionally, I assist with academic concerns, executive dysfunction and immigrant culture shock/adjustment.

Lastly, I greatly enjoy providing parenting support/parent coaching, recognizing that raising children and adolescents can be challenging and often requires additional guidance. My approach helps parents understand and manage their own vulnerabilities, fostering a healthier family environment. I love helping parents to feel empowered in their role as a parent, and foster closer relationships with their children/teens.

How I Help

I routinely use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in my work with clients. I also use Exposure Response Prevention, Narrative Therapy and Family Systems Therapy. Lastly, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Strengths Based Therapy are also integral to my approach. For parent coaching, I utilize evidence-based parenting curriculums like the Incredible Years to help empower parents to best support their children and enhance their parenting skills. For families, I utilize systematic family interventions to address relational dynamics. My goal is to help families identify these dynamics, improve communication, and work towards more harmonious interactions.
