Stephanie Ruiz-Martinez
MA, LMFTA
I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapy Associate, I am dedicated to helping people work toward improved relationships and well-being. With a gentle and caring approach, I want to create a safe space where everyone feels seen and understood.
Drawing From Experience
I have experience from co-facilitating group therapy to providing telehealth therapy and in-person in community mental health to teens, children, adults couples and families. My experience in working with diverse groups goes back from early childhood education as a preschool teacher and elementary ELL Para-educator.
I Graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. This program exposed me to work with a systemic lease. Due to my previous personal and professional experiences, this has led me to have a passion for working with teens, children, adults, couples and families.
Who I Work With
I work with a diverse group of clients which includes children, teens, adults, couples and families. I am passionate about helping people work towards improving relationships and their well-being. My approach to therapy is through a systemic lens. Meaning I acknowledge cultural identities, religious beliefs, relationships, and community, and how it impacts therapy outcomes, goals, and treatment plans. The main therapy models that I utilize consist of Solution Focused Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I believe that the attachment styles that people create has an impact on the way they create relationships and perceive their story and how it keeps them in the ongoing cycle that they have been accustomed to.
